Over the past two days, Year 5 students have been setting up their learning space at home. Several students shared images of their 'learning stations'. We love the organisation!
It was an absolute pleasure to witness this lively and engaging presentation by Aram and Tara. The visual information on the well-designed and appealing slides was brought to life through their remarkable speech and drama skills. Now, we know a lot more about the customs and traditions of a celebration which has become part of our multi-cultural experience in Australia.
This term in Science, our investigation is focused on the special adaptations of plants and animals which enable them to survive in their particular environment. We've explored the function of leaves and conducted experiments to help us understand why leaves on plants in deserts are very small compared to the leaves on rain forest trees. It's all about transpiration. In Art, the students have created some beautiful leaf drawings. They are currently creating patterns using microscope images of the stomata on a leaf to inspire them.
Today, the students of Year 5 joined their Cottage buddies for lunch. It was delightful to witness the excitement of the anticipation and the warmth shown by our Year 5 students as they chatted and played with their new buddies.
We had a movie night last night and everyone slept beautifully. Today has been full of sunshine and activities and we have enjoyed the opportunity to get outside under the blue sky.
